Need a Computer Update?

Today’s automobiles are loaded with computers that control the engine, the transmission, vehicle stability, body functions such as AC, lighting, you name it. Vehicle manufacturers are constantly publishing updates for the software in these computers to correct problems that became apparent after new vehicles have been in service for a while. We just finished updating the engine control software in a 2008 Honda Accord to correct a problem with throttle response. Some Mazdas turn on the check engine light – not because there’s an engine problem – but because some test tolerances are set too tight in the engine computer. Does your car need to have its software updated? The only way we can tell is to get our hands on the car and use our specialized equipment to read the current software version in the computer. Next time you’re in for service tell our Service Advisor you want to find out.
